Jason Edwards – Founder of Providence family of companies
Jason Edwards is the Founder of Providence Real Estate Partners (Providence) and Providence Realty Investors, Inc., both Atlanta-based firms with more than 20 years of operating history. He is a veteran real estate executive and entrepreneur with 25+ years of experience spanning development, acquisitions, asset management, and operations.
Providence Real Estate Partners focuses on build-to-suit development for public institutions, large private companies, and universities, including office, headquarters, logistics, and retail assets. The firm also pursues select public-private partnership (P3), mixed-use, and residential opportunities. Providence currently has approximately $200 million in projects that are secured or in its active development pipeline.
Prior to Providence, Jason founded and led PRI Asset Management, LLC, with $250 million in AUM which served as an outsourced real estate division for corporate clients, overseeing development, acquisitions, asset management, construction, and capital markets execution across retail, industrial, and training facilities. Earlier in his career, he managed a $1 billion real estate portfolio across 20 states while at Fairfield Residential and Boston Capital.
He is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Southern 7 Chapter, where he recently served as a board officer. Jason was also a founding board member of the Atlanta-based Grove Park Foundation and previously served as President of the Kellogg School of Management Alumni Club of Atlanta.
Through a private 501(c)(3) organization he founded in 2002, Jason has raised over seven figures in support of Morehouse College. He continues to support his alma mater through annual contributions to the Opportunity Fund, which provides tuition assistance to rising seniors.
Jason also serves as Chairman and President of Juneteenth USA, a Houston-based nonprofit founded in 1979 by his late father, State Representative Al Edwards Sr., who authored and passed the first legislation establishing Juneteenth as a state-recognized holiday in Texas. Juneteenth USA is the nation’s oldest political advocacy organization dedicated to the commemoration of Juneteenth. Jason regularly speaks to Fortune 500 companies, U.S. embassies, and other institutions to advance awareness and adoption of the holiday.
Outside of his professional and philanthropic work, Jason is an avid outdoorsman with memberships in multiple hunting clubs. He enjoys saltwater fishing and is a dedicated college football fan. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., initiated at the Alpha Rho Chapter at Morehouse College, and is currently affiliated with the Eta Lambda Alumni Chapter.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Morehouse College and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He also completed professional studies in the Real Estate Finance program at Boston University. He resides in Atlanta with his wife, Denise, and their daughters, Sidney and Sloane.
